With three top 5 division finishes at Nationals, six All-Americans, and a 2022 run that ended in a ranking of fifth in the nation and the Spirit of AMTA award, the University of Georgia Mock Trial Program prepares, educates, and trains its members in legal principles, courtroom procedure, public speaking, and other professional skills to further the development of the competitors.
Advising the Mock Trial Program is Shannon Shipley Hinson, the associate director of admissions at the University of Georgia School of Law. She oversees the admissions process for Juris Doctor and M.S.L. programs, recruitment and marketing for prospective and admitted students, and the Graduate Assistant program. Prior to joining the School of Law, she worked as a litigator in Atlanta for over eight years, specializing in insurance defense and the defense of physicians in malpractice actions.
