Summer Academy Camps
Summer Academy registration is ongoing, and spots are filling up!

From the mechanisms behind vehicles to the intricate coding that powers gaming consoles, everything is intertwined in the booming field of robotics. This camp goes beyond theory, immersing you in practical tools and codes for crafting your very own robot. Navigate the design process, witnessing your robot evolve and improve with each passing challenge. UGA Robotics camp requires participants to pre-purchase a robotics kit before camp.

Classrooms are located around campus, and students may travel by foot, bus or university vehicle to get to classrooms or other camp activities. More details will be available in the welcome email sent out three weeks before camp begins.
Day Camp – $500
Michael Shawler joins the Summer Academy program with over 20 years of teaching experience. He has taught multiple subject areas such as Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Robotics. Currently, Michael teaches Computer Science and Robotics at East Jackson High School. For the past 8 years, he has served as the FIRST Robotics coach for the high school robotics teams. With Michael’s support and mentorship, the FIRST Robotics team continues to grow, competing annually at the state level and receiving recognition awards for team accomplishments. Michael is excited for the opportunity to spread his passion for robotics to the students at UGA Summer Academy.
What you need for camp:
Students will need to pre-purchase a mBot Neo Kit and SmartWorld addition before camp. Students will also need to bring technology such as a laptop or tablet. Make Block can be downloaded on a PC, Mac, or Chromebook.
