Explore natural object jewelry through this engaging camp, offered in collaboration with the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Learn to design and construct jewelry containing a found natural object and create a beautiful wearable keepsake inspired by the natural world around us.

Larissa McPherson

Larissa McPherson is a metalsmith and jewelry artist from Adairsville, GA, and is currently working on her MFA in Jewelry & Metalsmithing at the University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art. Larissa graduated from the University of West Georgia with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in studio art. Her work explores ideas and issues related to natural history collections and the accumulation of microplastics and waste in the environment, specifically in animal bodies. This is Larissa’s second year as a Summer Academy instructor.
