Some of the most amazing animations out there use a technique known as stopmotion in which each movement shown on the screen is visually captured in a drawing or photograph. Once assembled into a sequence, the sense of movement is produced, as are impactful narratives extending from cutting-edge anime shows to traditionally hand-painted Disney feature films from the 1950s!

Join us for an immersive week-long exploration into the magic behind stopmotion animation. Use accessible digital tools, master the foundational principles of animation and the art of storyboarding as you craft an animated narrative, all while exploring various approaches to stopmotion animation.
